Inspired by a trip to the Texas Hill Country, we were greeted by this gorgeous view of the rolling landscape and wildflowers in full bloom. Then, to top it off the sun was setting in the distance casting its golden glow and backlighting the wildflowers. I had to capture the magical moment, enhancing the kaleidoscope of colors in the sky and along the ground. Arranging clouds, the road and rows of bluebonnets in rhythmic sweeping shapes create a harmonious scene that flows with light, texture and color,.

In this painting, I wanted to capture the rhythm, color, and density of our bluebonnets and vibrant wildflowers flowing along the grassy rises and falls of the berms in the Texas Hill Country. Making sure not to over blend my thick strokes so that you could see the marks and feel the energy found in nature, Spring Forth is loaded with texture, color and movement. Dramatic clouds swoop down and lead your eye to the rolling fileds of distant wildflowers, while life-size foreground bluebonnets burst with dimension and grab your attention.
