I loved this brilliant aspen forest with its bright white aspen trunks slicing through all of the vibrant red and yellow foliage. The patterns of the trees created a sort of rhythm and I focused on the placement of the ivory sentinels, the diagonal purple shadows that they cast and the rustling of the leaves to add to that musical feeling. I hope you, too, can sense the energy and joy of being surrounded by nature as autumn is in full swing.

Just sold! Since the leaves are just barely turning and we are in Acadia National Park, after all, I just had to paint this gorgeous ocean view that screams we are in Maine! Fascinating rock cliffs surrounded by pine trees, an endless expanding horizon, and listening to the crashing waves as they approach the shore, are just what the doctor ordered. How does it make you feel?

In this painting I wanted you to feel that child-like wonder of staring up in into the treetops and heavens above. Choosing uplifting autumn tones contrasted against a turquoise blue sky, gentle clouds drift by as the sun peeks through casting its magical light on everything it touches and lifting your spirits. Arranging the trees in a circular pattern gives you a sense of laying on the ground, surrounded by the forest and directs your eye to hope’s focal point. In “Awakenings” I wanted you to feel that child-like wonder of staring up into the treetops, mesmerized by the scene overhead. I’ve arranged the trunks in a spiral pattern so that you have the sense of laying on the ground, surrounded by the woods as they connect with the heavens above. Flowing from one season to the next, my goal is to not only show the beauty of nature, but also bring awareness to the importance of protecting our forests. Trees are the lifeblood of our planet. We are their stewards, and as such, it is up to us to ensure their survival. The ascending vortex and the seasons continuous transitioning, reminds us of the cyclical forces of life and what our place can be within it. Possibilities are endless. Relax. Contemplate. Dream.
