Here’s a second poppy study to go with my “Poppy Pair” from earlier in the week. Again, I’m playing around with extremely thick paint, sometimes 1/4 inch thick or more, to create texture. My textured poppy studies have been so popular this summer, that I thought I should paint a couple more to show at the Gold Coast Art Fair this week. I can’t help but smile when I see poppies, and I love painting them! I hope they brighten up your day, too.

The State Street Art Show in Ann Arbor turned out to be quite a success! With beautiful weather and fantastic crowds, we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. I really enjoyed meeting everyone at the show and seeing some familiar faces. Thank you for stopping by, and please let me know if I can help you with anything else. Now I am looking forward to a week’s break in between shows.
