New Cheerful Sunflower Painting by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

“Sun’s Glory II” ©2021 Niki Gulley
24″ x 24″ textured oil painting on wrap around canvas

I wanted this piece to be uplifting and full of color and energy. The sun sets on the horizon, casting its beautiful glow across golden petals while perky, circular faces smile back at you. Magical light dances through the morning field, bringing sunshine and hope for the day to come.

Just Sold Palette Knife Sunflower oil painting by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

12″ x 12″ Sunflowers – textured oil on canvas by Niki Gulley • SOLD

Just Sold! I painted these sunflowers with extremely thick paint and palette knife. The resulting canvas is loaded with texture, color and energy! I’ve painted it on 1 and 1/2 inch deep stretcher bars, with the image continuing around the edges so that it can be hung as is frameless for a contemporary look.
This sunflower scene looks great hung alone to brighten up a little spot, or in a grouping with some of my sunflower or floral scenes. Hang them horizontally, vertically, on a diagonal or stacked.

E-mail Niki Gulley for more information on this piece or to find out about complimentary companion paintings.

New Sunflower oil painting

“Sunny Side Up” ©2011 Niki Gulley
30″ x 48″ oil painting

In Sunny Side Up, I wanted to paint something bright and happy that would always cause you to smile when you looked at it, and sunflowers are the perfect flower to do just that. Purposely choosing bright complimentary colors and using extremely thick oil paint, I feel the painting really leaps off the canvas and creates the feeling of joy I intended.

If you’d like to see this sunflower painting in person, visit my booth at “Artscape” held at the Dallas Arboretum next weekend (March 18-20.) See for more details.

Or, e-mail me at Niki Gulley if you would like more information or to purchase this painting.
