Just Sold! I wanted this piece to be uplifting and full of color and energy. Set beneath an azure sky on a beautiful day in summertime with the sunflowers in full bloom, I hope all of your cares drift away while gazing into this cheerful scene.

In this vertical floral series, I’ve framed the paintings in espresso floater frames so that you can still see the textured oil paint continuing around the edges of the canvas. These sunflowers look great hung alone or in a grouping, too!

Greece Art Trek with Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley and European Photographer Scott Williams

Day 6 – Greece Art Trek: Fira and Wineries

On the sixth day of our Greece Art Trek, the sky darkened and the winds picked up so we decided to paint in a more sheltered spot. So setting up on our balcony, we chose to paint a vignette of the white-washed stucco and simple architectural lines and curves. At a couple of points, we even got some soft sunlight to give our subject subtle highlights and shadows, which we painted quickly as the light was quite fleeting.

That afternoon, we weren’t about to let the drizzle spoil our day so we made the most of the the situation and went wine tasting! One of the local wineries overlooked the caldera, so we not only sampled some delicious Greek wines and munchies but also with the rain letting up, took in another amazing view.

Next summer we will be leading an Art Trek to Paris and Provence, France so if you’ve always dreamed of painting, photographing and sightseeing during lavender and sunflower season in France, and following in the footsteps of Monet, Van Gogh and Cezanne, please join us for this amazing trip! “Sun Drenched” textured sunflower oil painting

Inspired by our trip to Provence last summer, I was awestruck by these massive fields of sunflowers blooming. Seeing this brilliant carpet of gold, with its sea of faces smiling towards the sun, just made me feel happy and I wanted you to experience that joy, too. In person “Sun Drenched” practically leaps off the canvas with its vibrant yellow petals and extremely thick three-dimensional oil paint.

Bathed in Sunshine – Fresh off the easel!

I love it when we are driving leisurely through the countryside and we come across a gorgeous field of wildflowers. The sudden burst of color thrills your senses! Playing with color and texture, I feel like Bathed in Sunshine radiates with energy and captures the joy you feel on one of the last beautiful days of summer.

You can choose either the left or the right painting to hang alone or display both side by side to form a panorama diptych. Bathed in Sunshine is created with extremely thick paint on gallery wrap canvas with the painting continuing around the edges to create a 3-dimensional, almost sculptural wall art.
