I created this sunflower, which is part of my “Rhapsody in Bloom” series, with extremely thick oil paint and palette knife on 1 1/2″ gallery wrap canvas with the painting continuing around the edges.

These Texas bluebonnets and Indian Blanket were created with extremely thick oil paint and palette knives. Painted on 1 1/2″ deep gallery wrap canvas with the image continuing around the edges.

In this painting, I wanted you to you to experience the wonderment of looking up into the treetops – just like you did when you were a kid. Choosing playful colors and thick chunky staccato strokes adds to that childlike whimsy and I hope you are transported back to a happy, carefree time and place.

In this piece I wanted you to be able to feel the breeze rustling through the aspen and maple leaves on a beautiful crisp autumn day. I’ve created a sense of texture in the aspen trunks, too, by working with extremely thick paint and a palette knife.
