When we planted the garden a couple of years ago we went with re-blooming irises so that we would have flowers throughout the year. Our first year’s blooms of irises were pretty anemic, so this year when I had so many blossoms I was ecstatic! One of my goals when we planted our flower garden, was to give me an opportunity to be able to paint nature without leaving home. With everything that is going on this year, it proved to be the prefect solution for getting outside while still maintaining social distancing. My purple irises have such an amazing depth of color this spring. It seems even richer when it is contrasted against the lacy white edges of the bloom.
