Appearing in one of my meditations, I saw this image of the sunlight casting its glow around the landscape while live oaks embrace the scene and colorful wildflowers kiss your journey as you venture inward. Stop for a moment and take in the view or continue your venture and wander into the unknown.

SOLD • 24″ x 12″ textured acrylic Sunflower painting by Niki Gulley
Just sold! I was awestruck by these massive fields of sunflowers blooming not too far away from where I live. Seeing this brilliant carpet of gold, with its sea of faces smiling towards the sun, just made me feel happy and I wanted you to experience that joy, too. Created with palette knife and thick paint, these yellow beauties practically leap off the canvas and come to life!

“Blossoming Joy II” ©2022 Niki Gulley
24″ x 12″ textured mixed media on canvas
A gorgeous spring day in Texas, with the bluebonnets, Indian Paintbrush and Texas wildflowers in full bloom, and just a few white fluffy clouds in the sky. This Texas hill country scene is painted with extremely thick paint and palette knives so that in person, the canvas is loaded with texture, color and movement. Arranging the blooms vertically is designed to lift your spirits and add joy to your home. I hope you enjoy this contemporary impressionistic twist on a traditional Texas wildflower painting!

This Arboreal Labyrinth series was such a joy to paint! My goal was to capture the excitement and energy I feel while being immersed in the forest. Relishing in the gorgeous fall colors, enjoying the cool breeze as it kisses my cheek and creates a beautiful symphony blowing through the autumn leaves, and admiring the texture of peeling, knotted aspen trees, I stroll through the woods and forget about anything else but being surrounded by mother nature’s beauty.

“Bundle of Sunshine” ©2022 Niki Gulley
24″ x 12″ textured oil painting on wrap around canvas, framed in an espresso floater frame
I was awestruck by these massive fields of sunflowers blooming in Provence. Seeing this brilliant carpet of gold, with its sea of faces smiling towards the sun, just made me feel happy and I wanted you to experience that joy, too. Exaggerating the tile-roofed house in the distance also adds to that cheerful, whimsical mood of feeling content and like you’ve found your home. Created with palette knife and oil paint, “Bundle of Sunshine” practically leaps off the canvas and comes to life with its vibrant yellow petals and extremely thick three-dimensional oil paint.
“Bundle of Sunshine” along with several of my contemporary impressionistic landscape paintings are available through my gallery, the Good Art Company, in Fredericksburg, TX at https://www.goodartcompany.com/niki-gulley.

“Popping Sunshine” ©2022 Niki Gulley
24″ x 12″ textured mixed media on canvas
I absolutely love it when I come across a whole field of wildflowers – there is something about the transformation of a single dainty flower into a dense explosion of color that inspires awe and delights your senses. I liked how these rows of poppies and rolling grasses created a gentle harmony, inviting you to wander into the distance, getting lost in the moment. Full of color and hope, may my “Popping Color” painting transport you to a happy serene place.
