New “Soaring High” Palette Knife Aspen Tree Painting by Niki Gulley

June 20, 2019
Soaring High ©2019 Niki Gulley
30″ x 48″ • Textured mixed media on canvas

I wanted this painting to be filled with uplifting colors and energetic strokes all leading you skyward, to soar amongst the clouds. Aspen trees reach towards the heavens while gentle breezes cause the sky to dance while you lay on the ground gazing in wonderment. Happy hues, whimsical shapes and a feeling of movement, hopefully transport you to a carefree childhood moment where all of your worries drift away and dreams are created.

New “Autumn Cascades” Palette Knife Aspen Painting by Niki Gulley

July 11, 2018
“Autumn Cascades” ©2018 Niki Gulley
12” x 24” textured oil on canvas

Water pounds its way down the falls: cascading, rushing, charging into the riverbed — flowing over rocks, swiftly moving forward. Untamed, the surge finds its way over, under, around the boulder-strewn river. Tumbling waters drive up mists above the falls, the rhythmic sounds create a soothing harmony below, while autumn colors glow as we peer through the tangle of textured Aspen trees.
